A striking contribution to the 'Wild Walls' exhibition (the Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam 1995) was the work by Lara Schnitger. A foam rubber sculpture stretched through one of the spaces, tied by threads and tentacles. It brought to mind images of vaguely known organisms or prehistoric beings. The tension between the materials where the image was made and its position in the sky was surprising. As if something as light as a feather could be top-heavy at the same time.
